You had dropped me off some literature last year. I have requested quotes before and when the client gets the cost of drilling on water they always change their mind. We now have a drilling job on a bridge in Louisiana, Jefferson Davis Parish, which is west of Baton Rouge. Our drill is approx. 10′x25′ and weighs about 17,000 with all casing, j-rods,etc. It will have to be anchored by spuds, if possible. Or if the cost is too high, we can tie off the existing bridge and use anchors. I need a mob/demob cost and a daily or weekly rate. Thanks for your time. Jan

    Marc,

Currently Poseidon Barge Corporation fabricates, sell and lease portable sectional barges that can be transported by truck to the job site. The type of barge you are requesting would require being built in the water. The salesman in your area is John Bolek, jbolek@poseidonbarge.com. John will be able to assist you in finding a company capable of building your barge.

It is best to schedule delivery and pick up for the barges on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. All of the barges require over width permits. In many locations, trucks with over width loads are prohibited to run over the weekends. A typical over width truck can travel about 400 miles per day. Holidays are more challenging. In most instances, the trucks have to be off the road by 12:00 noon on Friday and can not travel until the following Tuesday morning if the holiday falls on Monday. Depending on the states, there can be a one or two day delay from when the trucking company orders the permits till when they receive them.
